Justin L. Kouns was called to preach the gospel in August 2012 at the age of 24. He was ordained in 2014 by First Baptist Church of Grayson. He served as Associate Pastor at Horton Flats Baptist Church in Olive Hill, KY before moving to Texas in 2019.

He attended Kentucky Christian University for Bachelor of Social Work from 2008-2011 and The University of Kentucky for Master of Social Work from 2011-2013. Justin worked as the Director of Case Management at CHI St. Joseph Health Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health through the end of June 2023. He transitioned to full-time Senior Pastor at Christ's Way beginning on July 1, 2023.

Justin met his wife Elizabeth (Cardenas) Kouns in 2009 while on a short-term mission trip in Eagle Pass, TX. Justin married Elizabeth in 2012 and they have one daughter, Juliana.

He enjoys coffee, reading, and Kentucky basketball. Even though Justin is from the Bluegrass State, he has fallen in love with Aggieland and enjoys Aggie sports (when they aren’t playing Kentucky).

Jessica was born and raised in Brenham and moved to BCS 11 years ago. Jessica and her husband,
Charlie, have two daughters: Emilee who is 17 years old and Avery who is 9 years old. Jessica studied Early Childhood
Development and worked for Bryan ISD for 4 years. She has been involved in helping and leading
Children’s ministry for over 11 years. “Being a part of a Child’s Faith Journey is such a blessing and an
honor; it brings great joy to my life to be able to honor and serve God in this way.”
In her spare time, Jessica likes to spend time with her husband and kids, watch her kids enjoy all of their
activities, and go to Brenham as often as she can to see her family. “I am looking forward to building
relationships with all the children and their families here at Christ’s Way, and being able to bring the
Word of God to the children in a way that gets them fired up for Jesus.” “There are so many exciting
things ahead for the Children’s Ministry at Christ’s way God is working and doing amazing things."
